INVISALIGN
Several years ago, Dr. Regiani and his staff took a certification class on new way to straighten teeth without using metal wires or brackets, called ''Invisalign''. The process is selective and not everyone will qualify. But for those patients who just want to straighten a few teeth or just cannot stand metal in their mouth, this may be the answer.
Invisalign uses advanced 3-d computer imaging technology to transfer your bite impressions to a custom made series of clear and removable aligners. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series your teeth will move little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final position. Length of treatment varies on your individual treatment plan. The cost is comparable to standard orthodontic metal braces and is usually covered by dental insurance to the same extent.
Invisalign is invisible, no one can tell you're straightening you teeth. It is removable so you can eat and drink what you want, while you're in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are not a problem. Finally the aligners are comfortable as there is no metal to cause the mouth abrasions while in treatment. And no metal or wires usually means less time at the dentist getting adjustments.
