Cosmetic Dentistry & Different Ways to Restore a Smile

Youthful, healthy smiles can be yours! All our fillings and restorations that cover all or part of a tooth are tooth-colored and free of metals like mercury, nickle, aluminum, cadmium, etc. Let talk about some basic terms:

Lumineers® can be as thin as a contact lens. When bonded over the front of a discolored tooth, it takes on a lifelike appearance. There is minimal (or sometimes no) drilling done on the natural tooth, and that means anesthetic is rarely needed. Because these are custom-fabricated in a Lumineers® lab, it does require a two-visit process: once for impressions and a second visit to bond the Lumineers® in place.

We’ve done thousands of cases and have been Lumineer® certified over 20 years. Ask about getting your best cosmetic result! http://www.lumineers.com

Crowns are very different, as these replace the bulk of a tooth after decay removal or accident/injury when there is little tooth structure left to hold a filling. A crown can often repair/replace even a tiny stub of a tooth! In our office, most crowns are bonded to the natural tooth. This lessens the potential for a crown to loosen or come off its tooth.

Veneers are a cross between the two. Thicker than a Lumineer®, a veneer can be used where more coverage is needed, but the tooth itself does not need to be cut down to a stub. Again, these are bonded in place for strength and durability.

One of the advantages of being a pioneer in this field is knowing from experience what lasts longer and looks better even decades later. It’s a lasting investment in your appearance. Love your smile with every glance in the mirror or social media photo. You, even better!
